And water is the best drink for hydration, but some people like to drink flavored drinks instead of plain water. That’s why adding lemon will give the flavor as well as vitamin C.

As I mentioned earlier, lemon is a good source of vitamin C, an antioxidant that reduces the free radicals from the body. And Free radicals can lead to severe health problems. 

Although it is not the citrus fruits with the highest amount of vitamin C present in it. Still, it is a good source of vitamin C and a common fruit which is most of the time available in the kitchen.

Risk of Drinking Lemon Water

Drinking lemon water is safe. But you should be aware of the potential risk of lemon water to your teeth. 

Drinking citrus-based drinks may erode tooth enamel, thus increasing the risk of tooth decay, according to The American Dental Association. 

But to minimize the risk, you can drink the lemon water using a straw and rinse your mouth with plain water afterward.
